SPM Girls Lacrosse Notches 9-2 Victory Over AMSA
Balanced attack leads Guardians to first victory of the season
WORCESTER, Mass. (April 3, 2019) - The St Peter-Marian girls lacrosse team opened its 2019 season with a convincing 9-2 victory over AMSA at Guardian field on Wednesday afternoon.
Junior captain Kellie Bushe (Paxton, Mass.) led the offensive efforts for the Guardians, totaling three goals on the afternoon, while eighth grader Ashlynn Witt (Princeton, Mass.) added a pair of scores. Freshman Christina Gambaccini (Worcester, Mass.) was also strong with two goals, while seventh grader Rileigh Leary (Holden, Mass.) and junior Caleigh Donoghue (Worcsester, Mass.) rounded out the scoring with one goal apiece.
In net, sophomore Megan Bushe (Paxton, Mass.) earned the victory for SPM, totaling seven saves on the afternoon.
St. Peter-Marian (1-0) will be back in action on Friday as it travels to Monty Tech at 6pm.
