During the upcoming season, the SPM athletic department will be revitalizing its athletic booster approach and creating a more unified effort to bolster its 20+ athletic programs. The objective of this newly created booster club are the following:
- To arouse and maintain an enthusiastic interest in all programs of the Athletic Department of St. Peter-Marian.
- To lend all possible support to the Athletic programs at St. Peter-Marian and specifically to the Director of Athletics.
- To build and maintain an organization which will help promote the activities of the St. Peter-Marian Athletic Department. (grades 7-12).
- Help develop the potential of St. Peter-Marian athletes.
- Act as an umbrella organization to all the athletic teams at St. Peter-Marian.
In order to achieve these objectives, an executive board will be appointed to lead this new initiative. The executive board will consist of the following positions, President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary & Athletic Director. The term of office for each position shall be for no more than two consecutive years with each member serving as chairs of the four standings committees: Fundraising, Membership & Publicity, Concessions & Spirit, and one Alumni Representative.
Currently, the SPM athletic department is accepting applications to appoint its executive board members. Details regarding each position are below. Director of Athletics
Executive Board Position Descriptions
President - The President shall be the chief executive officer of the SPM Athletics Booster. The President shall preside at all meetings of the SPM Athletics Booster and the Executive Committee, and shall call such meetings as specified in Article VI. It shall be the President’s duty to exercise supervision over the activities and welfare of the SPM Athletics Booster and keep the members of the Executive Committee informed of all matters pertaining to the affairs of the Boosters Club.
Vice President - The Vice President shall, in the absence of the President, perform all the duties and assume all responsibilities of the President. In addition, the Vice President shall be the coordinator of all active committees.
Secretary - The Secretary shall record activities of all SPM Athletics Booster Executive Committee and membership meetings. The Secretary will contact all members & notify of meetings
Treasurer - The Treasurer shall receive and disburse the funds of the SPM Athletics Booster as established by the budget and authorized by the Executive Committee. The Treasurer shall keep and preserve proper vouchers and books of account, which shall be open for examination by the Executive Committee, and/or the membership of the SPM Athletics Booster. The Treasurer shall also make voucher records and books of account available annually for audit by an auditing committee duly appointed by the President. Disbursement of funds to the Athletic Department for program improvements and individual or team recognition shall come at the Athletic Director’s specific written request only. All checks drawn upon the funds of the SPM Athletics Booster shall require the signature of the President or Treasurer. The Treasurer shall submit an annual report to the membership at the annual SPM Athletics Booster meeting in May. In addition, the Treasurer shall submit a financial report at each membership meeting and shall also present other financial reports as may be requested by the SPM Athletics Booster.
