Field Hockey Opens 2017 Season With 6-0 Win Over South

Zenevitch paces Guardians with four goals in season opener

WORCESTER, Mass. (September 8, 2017) - The St. Peter-Marian girls field hockey team opened its 2017 season this afternoon, downing South High, 6-0 at Guardian Field.

Junior captain Liz Zenevitch (Worcester, Mass.) paced the offensive efforts for the Guardians, finishing with a game-best four goals, while classmate Lauren Moran (Leicester, Mass.) and sophomore Emily Smith (Worcester, Mass.) added one goal apiece.

In net, senior Erin Griffin (Holden, Mass.) notched three saves en route to the complete game shutout.

St. Peter-Marian (1-0, 0-0 CMC) will be back in action on Monday as it travels to St. Bernards' at 3:45pm.
